Trauma-Informed Social Justice Collaborator in the Documentary Film Space
I take trauma informed considerations and practices in documentary filmmaking; this includes working with the production team, to individualized work with the subjects of the film and members of the production team.
More specifically, I have experience in script reading and training production teams on trauma-informed filming from a social justice lens. I provide guidance on incorporating diverse perspectives, tackling systemic inequalities, and promoting inclusivity in all aspects of the film. My favorite part of this work is the relationship building, personalized coaching and ongoing support throughout your filmmaking journey.
Goals/Objectives:
Help move the work to a place of trauma informed social justice.
Create an awareness around the manifestations of intergenerational and present trauma that may show up on set.
Create awareness and promote healing around possible moments of activation that subjects may experience in filming.
Analyze or unpack privilege / power dynamics between filmmakers and subjects.
